Governor Mutfwang provides complimentary bus transport across 17 Local Government Areas.

In an effort to alleviate travel challenges during the holiday season, Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has declared free transportation for individuals journeying across the 17 local government areas. This initiative, scheduled for December 23rd and 24th, will offer complimentary travel to all local government headquarters within Plateau State.

The declaration was communicated by Hon. Davou Jatau, the Commissioner for Transportation in Plateau State, at the six-month assessment of Governor Mutfwang’s administration. The event was coordinated by the office of the Director General of Research and Documentation in partnership with PRTV.

Underscoring Governor Mutfwang’s transport-friendly leadership, Jatau underscored the governor’s dedication to addressing challenges encountered by the public during holiday travel. Moreover, he disclosed that the state government has made substantial investments in technology to counteract car theft.

Jatau elaborated on the deployed technology, which employs high-sensor cameras capable of providing real-time updates on vehicles with flagged plate numbers, effectively combating car theft in strategic locations across the state.

Discussing the revival of the train service in Jos, Jatau confirmed that operations are scheduled to commence by January 1st, 2023. He also revealed the government’s intentions to rejuvenate the TinCity transport services within the Jos metropolitan area. This initiative entails the procurement of buses to assist citizens affected by the removal of subsidies by the federal government.

Moreover, Jatau emphasized the administration’s dedication to improving security measures for tricycle commercial services in Jos by incorporating technology. These initiatives are designed to guarantee the safety and welfare of citizens utilizing this mode of transportation in the state capital.
